Bitstream 3X

The Bitstream 3X is a MIDI controller originally designed by WaveIdea and then produced and distributed by CME. It has been discontinued for several years and is no longer supported, but a number of users still have one in active use.

This page keeps a copy of the latest firmware, configuration software, application notes and user manuals available for download.

(1) If your Bitstream 3X is no longer detected as a USB MIDI device it may be bricked. Open the unit, locate the small printed circuit board near the USB connector, and find the 8-pin EEPROM mounted in a socket. Take it to a local electronics shop to reprogram the chip with the USB firmware above; once that is done you can update the main firmware normally using the firmware upgrader software.
